Today’s horse racing meeting is at the Clairwood racecourse
A number of first timers have been carded in the first race which is off at 12h05 SA time so watch the betting closely for any betting support.
The card looks interesting and here are some of my fancies for today
Race 2 (1) Commissionerstreet – looks ready to win here
Race 3 (1) Varese is back from a rest and should win this race . The improving (7)Top Africa may be a danger
The promising (2) River Jelez should win Race Six
My value eachway wager for today will be (6) Belacanto in Race Seven

Racing is at the Durbanville race track where seven races have been carded and the first race is off at 11h45GMT (13h45 SATime)
The going is reported to be GOOD with a tail wind and the weather is cloudy.

Racing today is at the Flamingo park racecourse where nine races have been carded and the weather is cloudy and the going SOFT.
Racing tomorrow is at the Durbanville race course and my selections and card changes will be posted later this afternoon

Vaal Racing Today – 24 April 2008
Vaal racing
Racing today is at the Vaal Racecourse where nine races are carded. Races 3, 5, 7 and 9 are on the Sand track and all other races on the Turf track
Race One
Jet Strike(6) looks ready to run a big race today. Tango Tango(12) should not be left out from any of your permutations. Kimberley Cruise(7) has a chance to be in the first two. Strong betting support (3)Golden Scold
Race Two
LeadWolf(9) is in with a big chance here and watch for some good improvement from (4)Foreverdiamond and (10)Mustarsel
Race Three
Dance with dollars(“8”) returns from a layoff and will run well. Vision(12) is definitely one for the notebook and we can expect a good run here. Mascarpone(4) could run into a place while and Shiyabekhala(9) can improve on the debut run
Race Four
Pelindaba(1) looks like a very get selection to win here and is one of my fancies as a good bet. Rakeen’s C;lassic(10) and the consistent (2)Swarming rates as a danger to the selection
Race Five
Fox Hunt (2) is another outstanding bet for today and is also course and distance suited.Die Another day(1) will run well here as well. (3)Quarterback and (7)Hell Bells can be included for the exotics
Race Six
Brother Bear(7)is on top form and should be followed. The very fast (3)Ordinance and (2)Swordsmith 2nd run after a resdt and can improve
Race Seven
The lightly raced (5)Akido looks like a nice eachway wager.Fearless Thomas(3) and (“8”)Zelwin all have chances to appear in the frame
Race Eight
The in form (3)Miss Galilei and the very consistent (6) are the choice for winning and appearing in the frame
Race Nine
Guardian Angel(11) has a chance as an improved chance of winning here. (2)Heraldic Seal can repeat on its fair last run. (“8”) Angel in Heaven should be included in all bets.

Race One
Hey Pappie(2) has had two fair runs and should be in the money today. Morning Wolf(6) has the credentials to place today. THe best advice for this race is to watch for any betting support for the first timers
Race Two
Desert Chestnut(6) is in good form and can do well today. Reign and Rule(8) and (2) Kip Keno can do well to appear in the frame.
Race Three
Keep a close for good improvement from (13) Letthemusicplay. (3) Right Number has some nice form and should be included together with (4) Warrior Island
Race Four
This is a bit of an open race (15) Lemongrass should run well here and watch for some good improvement from (14) Bishop. Anthony Delpech rides (7) Prime Objective and will definitely be therabout when it matters most
Race Five
The well bred (8) Iceblink is one to be consider and is improving nicely. (2)Plentiful is also improving nicely now. The number Syrian Sonja is returning from a rest and with the apprentice claiming 4kg has a chance of doing well here.
Race Six
The best bet on the card will surely be (1) Galant Gagnant has everything in his favour to win this race.(10) Wing Tip and (3) El padrino can place in the race
Race Seven
The improving (1)Dash of Dynamite and (3) Jewel of Jwaneng will perform well in this race and the winner should come from one of them. (4) I said Hey seldom runs a bad race andcan be included in the exotics
Race Eight
Anthony Delpech rides (2) Battar from the Mike de Kock stable will run well here, however the race is a little wide open so watch for some good improvement from (3)Silver Knight and (6)Tavistock. Preach Connection (5) may appreciate this trip

Race Three
This looks like a two horse race between (11) Marching Thru and (2) Columbus . Marching Thru hasthe form to win this race however This is Columbus third run after a rest and should run well.Pointfex (1) looks ready as well
Race Four
Key Castle (2) is in good form and makes strong appeal here to win this race. Jarvik(6) has claims for being in the money together with (11) Lord Faberge
Race Five
Wood Fella(8) is bang on form and should be followed here. (5) Pecan Stream is another to look at after the good last run.
Race Six
Slyvan Fields (4) is my best bet for today.
Race Seven
Looks like an open race , Our Table Mountain (2) should not be ignored and has the form to run well here.Ivory Traile(8) and Play Catch(3) may be the dangers to the selection here
Race Eight
Miss Kool Kat (6) is coming right at the right time and should be able to win this race. Cut Lass(2) must be included in the exotics

Racing today is at the Flamingo Park racecourse Kimberley where nine races are carded and the first race is off at 12h30(10h30GMT).
Race One
Horse NO 1 Columbian Connecti won on his debut here and is one that can be followed with the danger being Surf Medal Horse no 4
Race Two
I’m Gorgeous (8) had a good last run and should be in the frame wath out for some nice runs from Glass Swan(4) and Lanie May(2) Scratched (8) Im Gorgeous
Race Three
Grooms Toast(3) and Pigoens Express(2) will run good race today with a slight preference for Grooms Toast after the good last run at this track. Hellebore(12) returns from a short rest and can make some improvement.
Race Four
Ostentacious(10) is a consistent sort and demands the outmost respect here. Staying Alive(3) third run after a rest and should be in the money today and also has good form
Race Five
The consistent horse (3) Just Once More will definitely be right there when in matters most. Zambesi(1) and (5)The Howard have chances to be in the frame as well
Race Six
The consistent Showmethemoney(6) is the one to follow here however watch for good runs from (2)Zim Blesky and (5)Durango
Race Seven
Ashmira(6~) is holding form well and will be suited to this trip. The (1) horse Western Swing is course and distance suited and will go close Tribune (4) returns from a rest and aways runs well after a rest so keep an eye out for this one as well
Race Eight
Port Natal(10) likes this track and has good recent form and is one to keep an eye on.d Belle of Fard(6) is making steady progress and should be included in all bets.Gypsey Golds (9) loves this track.
Race Nine
Golden Eagle (4) looks to be the best bet on the card today and should be followed. Crystal Glazer(11) should ran a place .

Racing today is at the Turffontein race track where the going is reported to be GOOD with across wind and the weather here is partly cloudy.

The selection here is horse no 3 Die Another Day who has claims on its the good last run
Race Two
Barahin’s Jewel (No 3) second run after a rest should be able to win this race however watch out for Rosinate (No 1) a course and distance winner
Race Three
Swarming (8) who is very consistent will win this race from (no 5) In heaven
Race Four
Close as Oak (No 2) and The K.O. Kid (N0 8) will be the two watch in this race however I am inclined to lean in favour of Close as Oak.
Race Five
The seven horse Buscador won against weaker horse and this will be the second run after a rest so a little caution in this race. Kiwinisky (no 4) third run after a rest and is consistent.
Race Six
Shes on Fire (no 4) is in good form and this will be its second run after a rest and the danger here is horse number 5 Spring Garland
Race Seven
The bet bet for the day is most definitely Sahara carded number 2 and should be a good bet for today
Race Eight
Juanfra (n0 8) is coming back from a rest and should be a good each way wager here
Race Nine
The nine horse Resolution is the form horse with all the credentials but I am inclined to favour Ermine the number 7 horse to win this race.
